Karlstad Airport is Värmland's largest airport, owned by Karlstad Municipality and Region Värmland. Approximately 35 employees work here today. Our goal is to provide the region with well-adapted air traffic for both businesses and private individuals, offering a good selection of regular and charter flights. Karlstad Airport has been designated as an emergency airport by the government, meaning we maintain 24/7 readiness year-round to open the airport for public service traffic.

Description

Karlstad Airport is a vital part of the region's infrastructure, and we work daily to deliver the highest level of flight safety, security, and service to our travelers. We are looking for Airport Officers for the airport's operations unit. The role is development-oriented and varied, and you will contribute to both the daily operations and future development of the airport.

About the Role

As an Airport Officer, you will have a varied daily routine where you work closely with technology, people, and the environment. You are a key part of ensuring the airport operates safely and efficiently – all year round.

In this role, you will work with the operation and maintenance of the airport's facilities or perform ramp services for aircraft, such as loading and unloading baggage, refueling, and de-icing. You will participate in airfield maintenance tasks, including plowing, sweeping, and snow blowing during the winter. In the summer, you will mow grass and clear brush. You will also be part of the airport's fire and rescue team as an airport firefighter.

Since the role is part of a safety-regulated operation, high demands are placed on personal safety awareness. This means it is crucial to report deviations and contribute to continuous improvements in the operation. As an Airport Officer, you will collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure smooth processes.

You don't need to know everything from the start – here you will receive training and opportunities to develop within several areas of the operation.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is curious, responsible, and wants to contribute to a safe and functioning airport. You thrive in a role where you get to work both practically and with others, and where you continuously learn new things. The role requires that you can adapt to different situations and enjoy varied work with safety as the highest priority. Clear communication and a problem-solving approach are prerequisites for success in the role. You have a professional attitude in all contacts, both internal and external.

The position involves shift work, which means early mornings, late evenings, and weekend work. On-call duty during nights and weekends is included in the role. To thrive with us, you need to appreciate active work where you work both indoors and outdoors year-round, regardless of weather conditions.

We are looking for you with a high school education. The work requires Swedish citizenship and a Category B driver's license.

Other Information

During the recruitment process, a health check and practical assessments evaluating strength and fitness will be conducted.

The position is subject to a background check according to the Security Protection Ordinance § 14, as well as drug and alcohol testing. We place great importance on personal qualities. Probation period applies.
